Hi all, how are you doing?
I have been expanding my collection recently. Really like the Edward VII Silver Series.
Finding it so tough to grade the coins though, any tips?

I think you are right to single out the Edward VII silver series (especially the 2/6 and 2/=) for difficult grading - for some reason, the design of both is usually weakly struck, even at UNC grade, and both wear badly (as does the king's head). The florin, with its standing Britannia design ought to be one of the finest silver coins struck in the UK for general circulation, but even when UNC, lacks the crispness that you might expect. And prices reflect this - even what ought to be commonplace, like the 1905 shilling in Fine condition are pretty pricey.

i have a slabbed matte proof 1902 florin graded PF63 by NGC (MS/PF63 Slightly weak or average strike with moderate abrasions and hairlines of varying sizes.) www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/2809025-010/ , as you say they were weakly struck or low relief dies ?, was a bit of an impulse buy lol, picture is a bit rubbish, will get one with my own camera later,
